Contractor of record and commercial onboarding: compare the agreed scope.
Contractor of record services and commercial supplier onboarding can involve different commitments. Compare the contracting parties, responsibilities and services in the actual agreement. Talents describes BME’s commercial and administrative handling of specialists already selected by the client.
TALENTS PRACTICAL GUIDE
Are these names interchangeable?
Do not assume that they describe the same service. A contractor of record offer may include specific classification-related commitments. BME’s scope must be read from its own proposal and agreements, alongside the purchasing workflow your business needs.
BME EXPERIENCE
Professional services already entrusted to BME.
01 · PREPARE YOUR DECISION
Identify which entity signs each agreement.
Start with the parties: your business, the professional’s entity and any intermediary. Determine which entity enters into the service agreement and which entity invoices the client. Record the expected work, period, price and approval process. A product name alone does not explain this arrangement or show which responsibilities a provider has accepted.
BME’s commercial onboarding brings entrusted professional services into a common supplier relationship. Your team selects the specialist and describes the work. BME discusses contracts, administrative follow-up and invoicing for that scope. Examine the proposal rather than importing responsibilities from another provider’s contractor of record or employment service.

02 · PREPARE YOUR DECISION
Read classification-related commitments separately.
Deel’s own Contractor of Record help page describes a service involving engagement on the client’s behalf and specific commitments concerning misclassification claims. This is a description of that provider’s offer. It does not establish a general guarantee shared by every intermediary, and it should not be attributed to BME without an express agreement.
Prepare questions about working arrangements, applicable countries, assessment services and contractual responsibilities. An independent service relationship must be examined for its actual situation. Administrative document collection and invoice consolidation do not, by themselves, certify that every working arrangement is compliant or transfer all potential responsibilities to a supplier.

03 · PREPARE YOUR DECISION
Compare the workflow your procurement and finance teams need.
List the tasks to organise: supplier referencing, contract preparation, applicable documents, delivery approvals and invoice references. For each offer, note which tasks are included, what information you must provide and how changes are handled. A useful comparison retains the services and responsibilities rather than assuming that a single label answers every purchasing requirement.
BME announces supplier referencing within 24 hours and an administrative commission of 3–8% of the service amount, depending on volume and client conditions. There is no minimum or maximum number of assignments. Referencing is separate from agreement approval and the effective start. Present the services and countries to prepare the proposal and examine applicable EU restrictions.
